Heather is an education and media professional with more than 30 years of experience in teaching, broadcast news, and public relations. At the Graduate School USA, she teaches writing, English language, and public speaking skills, specializing in helping government writers comply with the Plain Writing Act of 2010.
Her dual-path career as an educator and journalist began with a teaching stint in a Western Kenya high school. When she returned, she launched a fifteen-year career as a television and radio journalist, continuing to teach writing and journalism at both high school and college levels. Heather has a bachelor’s degree in political science from Bryn Mawr College and an M.S. in journalism from Boston University.
