Have you ever thought that, as a trainer, you can learn something from a cartoonist? We’re going to explore that notion with the global best-selling author, humor columnist and national award-winning cartoonist – John Kolm! He is no stranger to TOC and is known to us as a successful CEO and owner of a team training business.
John will show us another side to creativity at work, as well as some of his cartoons, leading us on a journey of what creativity and innovation in a government workplace really means. Both are learned skills, not mysterious talents. You will explore creativity and innovation and how to use it to your advantage in your job and for career advancement, leaving with some practical insights into what creativity really is and is not.
John Kolm is a cartoonist, author and public speaker and is also the CEO of his own multinational company, Team Results USA. John worked for media giant Syme Media as an artist and contributing editor from 1986 till 1993, with his work appearing in almost all their publications, and then as an author, freelance writer and artist from 1993 till the present – while also being a company CEO. His work has appeared in magazines, books and newspapers all over the world.
In 1990 John won a National Cartooning Award, and in 2005 he wrote and illustrated a bestselling book for Penguin entitled Crocodile Charlie and the Holy Grail – How to Find Your Own Answers at Work and in Life.
